Gerald Solomon, a mainstay as Executive Director of the Samueli Foundation since 2008, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Anaheim Community Foundation.
“We are delighted to have Gerald join our Board as we continue our outreach into the community,” said Board Chairman Ed Munson. “His wealth of experience in the years he has served as President and CEO of a number of nationally recognized organizations is well noted. His work with the Samueli Foundation in the areas of STEM education, community health, youth development and empowerment mirrors what the ACF is striving to do.”
“The Samuelis are deeply passionate about, and committed to, the community of Anaheim and its residents,” stated Solomon. “The Samueli Foundation welcomes this opportunity to engage in Anaheim on an even deeper level.”
To that end, the Samueli Foundation is also providing $200,000 to ACF for capacity building and operations over the next two years.
In October 2018, ACF transitioned from being primarily volunteer driven to hiring John Guastaferro as its Executive Director. “With 35 years of service in Anaheim, ACF values collaboration with partners such as the Samueli Foundation,” said Guastaferro.
Since 1984, the Anaheim Community Foundation has enriched the lives of Anaheim residents by addressing community needs, providing Helping Handsgrant opportunities to local nonprofits, assisting families with youth program scholarships, and enhancing city-wide programs and services.
